WISSINOMING Wissinoming is a riverfront neighborhood in Northeast Philadelphia that derives its name from a Lenni Lenape term meaning “where the grapes grow” for the wild grapes that once grew in densely wooded areas along the Wissinoming and Little Wissinoming creeks, which no longer exist.
